July 4th!

The 4th of July weekend was a blast for all of us! On the actual 4th we had our family over to BBQ and play games, with the exception of Josh's injury during a game of "500", it was a good time and we ended the evening with a fire and fireworks with our good friends Mark, Melanie, Ryan and Zander. The rest of the weekend, we had fun catching up with our other good friends and spending time together! The girls had fun chatting, laughing, telling stories, the guys got in their usual basketball game...even though some forgot their tennis shoes, and the kids had fun running around the house playing together. It was really a great time and we miss being able to hang out regularly! At least we get opportunities like this. We are so blessed with great friends who live in Kalamazoo with us, who live in other states and even a friend in another country! You are all the best and we love you!

We are off to Lake Leelanau tomorrow!!! Jonah and Lauren have a countdown and they can hardly wait! Today in the car, Lauren thought we were leaving for the lake right now! I had to break the news that no, we aren't going to the lake yet, just Meijers! Watching their excitement in anticipation for our annual vacation to the Lake has been fun. We will all be up their for the first week and then the second week, Jess heads home to work and get ready for the Wesleyan Softball Tournament that he is heading up this year, and we will stay another week with my mom, dad, and Jonathan. I keep joking with our neighbors and friends that if they see me home, they will know why...I can only chase Lauren for so many days outdoors! Hopefully she will be a wonderful little girl who listens and doesn't run away from me all week!! And then reality sets in...she's a busy 2 year old with lots of energy, spunk, and attitude. Pray for us! It should be a good time though and we are looking forward to getting away. We will post after we get back!
