Landon has turned 6 months old today! The last 6 months have been great...challenging, but great! He is a wonderful little boy and is full of energy. We like to call him our little wiggle worm :) When he starts moving, we better be ready to run! We celebrated Landon's 6 month b'day last night with our families and Landon got his first taste of chocolate cake, which he seemed to like. Landon has brought so much joy to our lives. He is so precious and we are so blessed to have such a wonderful little boy.
In other happenings, we celebrated our b'day's, had Landon's baby dedication and have transitioned into parents of a first grader and preschooler. Jonah loves first grade and is adjusting to being at school all day. His favorite part, recess!! No surprise there :) He is becoming an excellent reader, writer and mathematician. He also just finished soccer until spring and will be starting up basketball. Lauren is loving every social aspect of preschool and making new friends. It is fun to see her making and playing with little girl friends! Her favorite new friend is Emma and we get to hear all about Emma and how fun she is. She is also enjoying gymnastics still and ballet. She is becoming quite the little gymnist and is really good at it! She loves ballet because she gets to wear her princess ballet outfit and dance around with a little wand and listen to princess songs.
As I close out this entry, we have a prayer request. Last month we had to take Landon to the ER because he was holding his head to the left and by evening was quite irritable and fussy. After a few hours there, they could not determine a cause, but wanted us to see our regular dr. the next day. So we did and again, no real answers as to why he doing this. The next few days he stopped doing this and was holding his head completely upright and strongly. During this time we had also noticed that he spits up, alot, and often. And will often straighten himself up, arch his back and hold his body very stiffly. He also is fussier. We just thought he probably has some reflux. Two days ago he woke up in the morning and once again staightend himself very tight, got really fussy, and in that moment of a minute of time, he was not himself and something seemed very wrong with how he was acting. It was after this that he once again began holding his head to the left. Needless to say, I was very worried and started to feel very uneasy with what I just saw him do. It was like he had a seizure. So we went to the dr. and of course, during the hour that we waited to be worked in, he was holding his head normally and acting happy. So we were told to watch him carefully and call if it happened again. It happened again, yesterday morning. In we went again, this time we got to see our regular dr. and he instantly made me feel like I was not crazy, and that all the things we were seeing him do were for a reason. Landon probably has Sandifer Syndrome. Which is treatable with medication and will improve and go away as he gets older. It is basically really bad reflux which can cause seizure like characteristics and posture and will make his neck lean completely to one side for a short period of time. So, please pray for Landon that he can start feeling better and that we will see improvement in his condition so he can be a happy baby all the time :)! Thank you!
