Yesterday was Mother's Day and it was a nice day...despite the dreary weather and the fact that I am sick with a cold that has taken over my voice! Jess got Big Apple Bagels (my favorite is a toasted honey oat bagel with honey cinnamon cream cheese! Yummy!) and the kids woke me up with shouts of "Happy Mother's Day!" and hugs and kisses. Then Jonah gave me my present while I was still waking up and he accidently dropped it on my face! Ouch! He felt bad. It was no biggie and I was fine. He was so proud of the gift he picked out. Jess let him (Lauren was with them in spirit!) choose what he wanted to give me. He picked the card, a Carebears card that sings a song when you open it and he wanted to give me candy and a movie. So Jess showed him the movies and he picked out this movie that was on tv a few weeks ago that we watched together...The Cutting Edge! I think this is so sweet...he must have really enjoyed cuddling with me and watching it together! And to think we were really only watching it because there was nothing else on and we needed some down time while Lauren was taking her nap! He was so proud of his gift. We went to church where Pastor Bruce made everyone cry while he read a blog entry of his own about how he misses his momma. It was so sweet and genuine. We taught children's church, took naps in the afternoon and then headed to mom and dad's for a cookout. We all crammed into their townhouse and really had a good time. We also celebrated Brayden turning 6 months and enjoyed watching him eat this first chocolate cake ( a family tradition) which he really enjoyed! And we celebrated Josh's birthday too! We also got to hear some funny honeymoon stories from Ryan...not Jennifer since they were about her! She was a good sport while we all got a good laugh from them! It was a fun evening and none of us minded the crammed living room with people, gifts, tables, and food...we just enjoyed being together and having everyone together at the same time!
Here are some pictures from the last few months...between birthdays, the wedding, holidays, and sports, it was impossible to find time to post everything we have been doing. So here are some pictures of Lauren's 2nd birthday, Jonah at swimming lessons, his first t-ball game, and soccer. Enjoy!
